Every Journey starts at mile 0. We started our way in Sunnyvale, CA, around 09:30 am. We stopped for a nice brunch at Lagoon Valley/ Pena Adobe Regional Park. By 01:01 pm, the temperature was already 101F, resulting in emergency use of the air conditioning. This fact did not help our fuel consumption, and it ended at 9.8 miles/gallon and a $150 gas cost. About 100 miles south of our camp- the landscape became exciting, with spectacular views of Mount Shasta and Lassen National Park. 7 hours after our departure- we arrived at Fowler’s Campground at Lower McCloud Falls. It is a spectacular camp with views of the McCloud River and the snowcapped Mount Shasta. We took a short stroll to the Lower McCloud Falls and finished with a great steak dinner (hosted by @dirty_Weber_and_friends).
