Alder Lake offered an excellent morning stroll as the clouds started to retreat and Mount Rainier began to clear on the horizon. The traffic to Seattle was terrible, yet we safely made it to the Trailers Inn RV park—a very space-limited park with full hookups and a good location.
Keren was responsible for a detailed plan for a day in the city. Kerry Park was a highlight, with a panoramic view of the city skyline and incredible houses with meticulously planned garden landscaping.
From there, we headed to see the Spheres – the new Amazon headquarters. Many strange and fun things are happening around that building, including “plant camp” – where
Amazon was giving free plants to the street visitors and handing out bananas from a food truck. Go figure- but it was fun. We continued to the inevitable Pike Place Market,
which is very touristy – yet offers some good chowder in Pike Place Chowder restaurant. The gardens around the Space Needle were surprising, beautiful, and interesting – with the MoPOP museum as the most inspiring building around… As the day progressed – the cloud burnt off- and the snowcapped mount peaks around the city revealed themselves.
