2nd day was focused on exploring scenic road CA89 with great views of Mount Shasta and, later on, Lassen
As expected, the highlight of the day was the Burney Falls loop trail. The falls are stunning, mainly on a bright day, and the hike is short and to the point. It was the right weather and time to try our inflatable Kayak on Lake Britton. We launched our pedaling from the parking lot at the end of the Burney Falls Campground(not before patching an unexpected whole in one of the Kayak walls)
After a short afternoon break – we hiked the middle and upper McCloud falls. The Middle Falls are clearly the highlights of this nice trail, that starts at our campground.
The traditional Ruti-Burgers were delicious for an early dinner before heading to enjoy Axe and Rose Public House Pun in McCloud: a very welcoming pub and restaurant with nice food (as far as I could see), a full bar, and a big patio/garden. It was a great place to watch the Warriors win the NBA finals game 4.
Ruti and Keren continued to explore the near town of Mount Shasta CA.
