It was another hot day in the Rockies, and it was so strange to walk in the heat and see all the now around you. What an epic dissonance. Building on the experience we gained last days; we woke up early to beat the heat and went hiking the Mount Robson Meadow Viewpoint Trail. Unfortunately, the Kinney Lake trail is closed this season due to a landslide. Thus, the lookout trail was the 2nd best option. That was a lovely track, with good elevation gain and fantastic views of the mountain and the Valley on the other sides.
Once we completed the trail, we packed the RV and headed into the tourist action in Jasper. Moose Lake was a nice stop, and we got to Jasper – very crowded and friendly. We were surprised how little snow was on the mountain, but we can explain it given the 90+ F heat in the last few days.
We have already deciphered the recipe for traveling in the heat: hike along the water. The Valley of the five lakes is very close to the Wabasso campsite and, while not exceptional – offered a good refreshment for the day.
