After a slow Day 11, Day 12 did not disappoint. The sun came out, the rain was (mostly) gone, and the road to Telkwa
along road 16 was easy to drive and beautiful, green, and full of the lake. As we approached Huston, the snowcapped mountains
returned, and the views became more and more exciting. There is a lot to do in the area, with good hiking trails. Unfortunately, the Twin falls recreation site, and the trail was closed due to muddy/snowy conditions, and we were too tired to try
the drive even more to Crater Lake Trail in Smithers. So instead, we decided that take Malkow Train, which was above and beyond expectations. The 6KM round trim trail accented by ~240 meters – passing a nice forset, wonderful super-Blum style flower fields before
the last ascent to the vista points near the mountain top antenna- revealing 360 views of snow-capped ridges and
huge valleys with rivers, lakes, and forest in between. The RV camp is very spacious , fully hocked up, and by the great river. the internet works fast, but there is some noise from the road and the trains that are running on the other side of the river. still – good site!
