Day 11 was the first day since we left home – we did not see any snow / snowy mountains (breaking a ten days strick). The inland HWY 99 offers much less dramatic views and trails. The rolling hills and the endless lakes made a leisure green, blue and gray drive to Prince George. We enjoyed the lovely Lake views in Williams Lake; we stopped at Quesnel for tourist information to learn that we should try and visit the local Pinnacles Provincial Park. They only forgot to tell us the park is closed on Sundays. We debated if we should hike the Ten Miles Provincial park – or hunt for a hike around Prince George – and decided to skip it. Next time we will give it a chance. We have arrived at Prince Gorge
around 0100pm, and after minor restocking and local groceries and hocking up at the Hartway RV Park (well maintained,
great internet, and good washing machines), we drove further up north to hike the short but strenuous trail that is climbing Teapot mountain, overlooking the big Summit Lake. The views were good – but the army of mosquitos and the long drive did not justify the extra effort. Other trails should be considered instead, like Forest of the world Lookout – which was much closer, or, if time allows, consider visiting the Ancient forest (1.5h). We returned to the camp at 0530pm for the first
time – and enjoyed a relaxed afternoon.
